SOPHIA participates in international events

SOPHIA has recently participated in two important international events of the translation industry:

GALA Lisbon took place in March 2011. With more than 200 participants from throughout the world, it was a truly global event and an eye-opener in terms of the expected future development of the translation business.

ELIA Networking Days took place from 13 to 15 May 2011 in Stockholm. It was a pleasant opportunity to meet our foreign colleagues, clients as well as suppliers, and to discuss mutual existing or potential cooperation.

Quality matters!

In November 2010, SOPHIA again successfully underwent an audit in line with ČSN EN 15038:2006. SOPHIA thus defended its right to held Translation Services Certificate, awarded to SOPHIA as the first translation company in the country in 2008.
At the same time, SOPHIA succeeded in an independent supervision audit in line with CSN EN ISO 9001:2009.

Ms. Karla Bauerova, Director and Owner of SOPHIA, was re-elected to the Board of ELIA. Karla will continue to serve as Deputy Treasurer of ELIA for the next two years.

Sophia participated in Localization World 2010 in Berlin. LocWorld was attended by professionals from 45 countries all over the world. Sophia enjoyed the opportunity to meet its peers and discuss the current challenges we all face in the language services industry.

SOPHIA succeeds in Supervision Audit

On 2nd November 2009 SOPHIA successfully underwent an independent supervision audit in line with norm ČSN EN ISO 9001:2009. At the same time SOPHIA defended its Translation Services Certificate in line with ČSN EN 15038:2006 which the company was awarded last year as the first “translation services provider” in the Czech Republic.
